Cold plunging has a reputation as a tough-guy athlete thing. Walk into YCB on a weekday morning and you'll see something different: moms after drop-off, friends who booked together, women who came for yoga and stayed for the ice bath.
Why Women Are Taking the Plunge
Research highlighted by Morozko Forge suggests regular cold exposure may support:
- Mood and mental wellness
- Metabolism and insulin sensitivity
- Energy and resilience
- Menstrual and perimenopausal symptoms
- Your body's ability to handle stress
Women may also respond to cold differently than men. So the goal is not to go the coldest or stay the longest. Consistency beats competition, every time.

More Than an Ice Bath
At YCB, the plunge is one piece of a bigger routine. Take a yoga class, warm up in the sauna, plunge, then relax in the hot tub or the green room. It's a calm, woman-owned studio built for people who want to feel like themselves again.
Not sure it's for you? Come tour. See the space, ask every question, and watch how members make it part of their week.
It's Better With Friends
One of our favorite perks: Premium members get a monthly guest pass.
Bring your sister. Bring your workout partner. Bring the friend who keeps saying, "There is no way I'm getting in that ice bath." You'll have someone to laugh with when it's time to get cold, and she might just become a regular too.
Tips for Your First Plunge
- Start warmer and shorter. One to two minutes is a great first goal.
- Breathe out slowly. Long exhales help your body settle faster.
- Warm up after. The sauna, hot tub, or red light are all great ways to finish.
- Track how you feel. Notice your mood, sleep, and energy over a few weeks.
If you're pregnant, nursing, or managing a health condition, talk to your doctor before you start.
Time That's Just for You
So many women spend their days taking care of everybody else. A plunge is a few minutes where nobody needs anything from you. No phone, no to-do list, just breath and cold water.
Members tell us that's the real reason they keep coming back. They leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more like themselves, and they carry that into the rest of their day.
